Reflection for jobweek

Finally writing my reflections. I cleaned the scouts/guides room with yan ying and xiang jie. Not much to do actually, just need to shift some cupboards to the other side of the room n unpack their things. It was quite fun as we ound some interesting things while unpacking. They have lots of stuff, like sleeping bags. Some of them were even dusty. I did not really interact with the MINDS scout with us, maybe i will make more effort to interact with them the next time we work together.

Reflections for jobweek{:
:)At least i'm not th last one to write my reflections.{andre quick!}
On 18/03/2009,
I was suppose to give out flyers at
Raffles Place Area w a MINDS scout.
I did not give out much,
because th MINDS scout was enthusiastic about giving out th flyers.
So i guided him along and make sure he doesn't wander off.
Luckily th weather wasn't very hot,
or it will be a even difficult job giving out th flyers.
It was a wonderful experience to understand them better.

O well... I shall be the next to write down the MINDS Job Week reflection after being RUSHED by some person 2 times...

Andre & I cleaned the Scouts/Guides room, with the help of Xiang Jie. The room was quite clean already, we just had to move the cupboards across the room and unpack Scouts' items in the box, since they moved in not long ago... There were some items that were considered new but were thrown away, as it turned yellow(water container with filter), expired(medicine), or it seriously have no use already(glow sticks). we organised each items to a space of its own, to make it look neater. Overall, i think the job was quite easy, and i don't mind doing this with my friends again:). I hope that the MINDS scouts like the arrangement of their items in the room.^^

I did not make an effort try to interact with the MINDS scout, because most of the time he was with the teacher, and even if he was in the room, i was busy doing something else, hence, the probability of interacting was very low. I hope i can change this mistake of mine the next visit.

I think that since we helped clean other schools's Scouts/Guides room, why can't we do the same to our own room, when we are using it for weekly meetings...btw The room is bigger, much spacious than MF's Scouts/Guides room [which i think you can actually do skipping in there], they also had many resources, like sleeping bags, sleeping mats, twines etc.(most of them are brand new).

First to write about the reflection of job week at MINDS on 18 March... >-<

On that day, Lin Hui and I actually went to one of the Minds' teacher's house to do cleaning.. Both of us just cleaned the windows, while the other 2 scouts did more things then us.. As both the groups are busy cleaning, there was not much of interaction.

Actually, to me, I think we are not really helping the scouts. In fact, I think we are just there to see or even witness that they can do safe tasks on their own. It is just that they need the instructions. Okay, so they are effective helpers that can carry out tasks on their own. And I think that they are actually more capable of what they can do or carry out more than I expected.

I hope that through this voluntary project, we can change the student population or at least some people about their biased views of students in MINDs...

haha.let me be the second one to get the ball rolling. yea, guys, better not let this blog be stagnant even before the project ends.

so far, project linking minds had taught me alot of things, in terms of planning and leadership, that kind of stuff. and also how to work with people i guess. and speaking of people, this time round, there are some pretty interesting ones.haha.but i have to know get you guys first. :) do not judge a book by its cover, so don't come to a conclusion to your team mates now, wait under the end of the project.

Oh yes, looking at xiangrui's post, if you guys need guidence, please feel free(or rather, please do) ask anyone of us(that is xiangjie, me, stanley, edith, hendarto or kelvin) for advice or to come down when you guys are planning the activities. i will post our pictures up the moment i get them from lester. we can always meet on fridays at 7pm at (name of fast food chain).LOL.
